Quick and Easy Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs)
Classroom assessment techniques (CATs) are spot checks for understanding that are quick, easy, and effective. Some CATs require little preparation time while providing a wealth of knowledge on students’ learning. CATs are appropriate for initiating, clarifying, and summarizing information at any (appropriate) point in a given class session.
Contact Terri Tarr for information on the Lets Talk Teaching series.
Let’s Talk Teaching is a monthly webinar sponsored by the CTL. These informal sessions are typically offered at noon on the second Wednesday of each month during the fall and spring semesters. The sessions will focus on a variety of teaching topics, will be facilitated by IUPUI faculty, and will have an emphasis on sharing examples, discussing ideas, and exploring questions. The series will be offered online via Adobe Connect. Participants can view them from their own computers or with others in the Center for Teaching and Learning. The sessions will be recorded and available online after the session.
Visit the CTL events calendar to read descriptions or register for upcoming sessions. Registered participants will be emailed information about how to connect to the webinar. For more information, or to volunteer as a session facilitator on a particular topic, contact the CTL by phone at 317-274-1300 or email.
